Hi there, my name is Barbi Kelemen, the owner of the Szívemcsücske cake shop. My cake journey started just a few years ago, but so many things have happened. My first cake workshop was opened on the first floor of the VINYL & WOOD coffee and brunch in August 2020. At the beginning I started to bake for coffee shops and friends, but I got a lot of wedding and custom cake orders.
In 2021 September, as we walked back from lunch break, we spotted a cute little store for rent and we immediately fell in love with it. We just knew that it will be my own cake shop. We rented it on the same night and after a quick renovation the “Szívemcsücske” cake shop was opened last fall in the Nagy Diófa street.
Since our team is expanding with a baby this year, our cake shop in Nagy Diófa street takes a break. Your orders can be picked up in VINYL & WOOD coffee shop in Wesselényi street 23.
Many people ask me what I like the most about cakes and baking. Honestly, my favourite part is always the decoration process: harmonizing the flavours and colours, choosing the flowers, creating the design and putting the small parts together. I really love to work with pastell colours on my painted cakes, but I truly enjoy to make a naked wedding cake too.
Luckily I got freedom from most of my guests when it comes to decoration, they trust me fully and this creative process gives me a lot of good energy.
There is something special about cakes and baking and the morning workshop moments to me. I have to admit that sometimes I complain about getting up early, but honestly that’s when I like to work the most. It’s still dark outside, others are sleeping, but by the time the city wakes up, my cakes are already smelling and waiting for you.
